We had the pleasure of having Toshihiro as our guide during our recent visit, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Toshihiro not only took us to all the must-see places but also went above and beyond to help us navigate the subway system, making our travels around the city much easier. His knowledge of the history of each location was impressive, adding depth and context to our visit. He also recommended the best sushi spot in the Tsukiji Fish Market, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. On top of all this, Toshihiro was kind enough to take a great picture of our group, giving us a wonderful memory to cherish. We spent a day in Kanazawa with Yoji, and it was an unforgettable experience. Yoji is not only a smart and knowledgeable guide but also someone who clearly thinks deeply about the world around him. This made spending the day with him all the more enjoyable, as our conversations often went beyond the typical tourist information. Being a Kanazawa native, Yoji’s deep understanding of the city shone through in every interaction, offering us a truly authentic experience rather than just a standard highlights tour. He took us to a charming Japanese curry spot and recommended an excellent, English-friendly sushi place for dinner—both of which were perfect. What really stood out was how naturally our conversations flowed, thanks to his excellent English and the sense that there was more to him than just guiding. His insights and thoughtfulness added an extra layer of depth to our day.
We had an incredible day exploring Takayama and Shirakawago with Keith. Having already spent a day in Takayama on our own, we could really appreciate the difference Keith made to our experience. He came well-prepared, equipped with an iPad featuring a detailed presentation of highlights and images. He would seamlessly bring it out to answer our questions, which added a lot of value to our trip. Keith's English was impeccable, likely due to his time in Canada, which made our conversations effortless and enjoyable. This was particularly important for our daughters, who were full of questions—a rarity for them unless they feel completely comfortable with the language. Being a local, Keith greeted people as we walked around, which gave us an authentic feel of the area. It was a wonderful experience, and we felt truly immersed in the local culture.
