Without any doubt, Asakusa is the most popular destination in Tokyo. Its unchangeable atmosphere, "Good old times", attracts many visitors every day. It was once the heart of Edo (Tokyo's ancient name) City, home to artisans, merchants and entertainers. As well as its oldest temple in Tokyo, Senso-ji and its great red lantern, its small lanes and winding alleyways are full of wonder. It's like a labyrinth. let's explore the labyrinth with me!

This center is located across from Kaminari-mon Gate. This tourist facility of Taito Ward is designed by Kuma Kengo, a famous architect.
With its height of 634 meters, Sky Tree is the highest tower in Japan. Next to the tower, we can see unique buildings. A big golden bubble on the top is designed by a French architect. It expresses a golden flame.
This is the main gate of Sensoji temple. Let's take a picture in front of its great red lantern !
This street is also an approach to the temple's main hall. It's 250 meters long. The stone-paved shopping street, full of Japanese atmosphere, has about 90 shops selling everything you need from traditional Japanese products.
Let's take a picture in front of this beautiful gate and this graceful pagoda !
Please look up at the ceiling. We can see beautiful paintings, the "Dragon" and the ``Celestial Maidens".
Photography is prohibited. But the main hall's blessing is ``fulfil of wishes''.
It is a temple with a deep heart that grants all kinds of wishes, not just specific ones.
Only this gate escaped from air-raid damage of 1945. So since 1618, this gate exists.
Three men who founded Sensoji temple in the 7th century are enshrined here.
This shopping street is said to retain well the atmosphere of ancient Edo street along a 200 meter long. You can enjoy kimonos and traditional crafts there.
The ``Star Plaza'' in front of Asakusa Public Hall is lined with plates engraved with the handprints and signatures of entertainers who have contributed to popular entertainment. It was started in 1979.
It hosts traditional Rakugo (performances of long funny tales). Kitano, movie director, have worked as a comedian when he was young.
This is an unusual shopping street with about 170 food-related shops, selling not only cooking utensils and tableware, but also restaurant signs.

It'sumi was a good tour guide. She made my tour interesting but she needs to learn her way around more and be circumspect.

I'm really glad to have your comment, Aimee ! I wish you & your nice guys every happiness. Itsumi
We visited Kamakura with Itsumi and saw 3 major shrine/temple areas in a short period of time. She was very knowledgeable, she tailored the tour to meet our interests, she was kind enough to make some last minute changes we requested, went as fast or slow as we wanted, and was very pleasant. I highly recommend!
Dear Brad J, Thank you for writing a review of my Kamakura half day tour. Yesterday was a beautiful day ! but the bus and the street were very crowded. Thank you for all your cooperation. Thank you very much for taking my tour ! Itsumi
