Kawagoe is located in the north part of Tokyo. It is only 30 minutes by train from central Tokyo. Kawagoe has good access and it is a very convenient tourist spot. Kawagoe is a town of history retaining the culture and aroma of Edo period 400 years ago. Why not visit the temples and learn about historical heritage, and fill up on Japanese food at an authentic Japanese restaurant?

Taking a stroll through the town, you will feel as if you have travelled back in time to ancient Edo period. You can experience the traditional and pure Japan which you can't see in Tokyo. At the Ichiban-gai street, you will see 100% fire -resistant houses which are more than 100 years old, and "Toki-no-kane",which is said to be the highest wooden belfry in Japan. The gentle sound of the bell may make you feel relaxed. Don't forget eating local specialties, sweet potato, grilled eel and various sweets.

We were warmly welcomed by Kenji at our hotel lobby and we felt welcomed. Fantastic start to our four hour tour! Kenji formatted a tour that was extremely good, very flexible (appreciate this!) and for that he deserves a special thanks. Kenji has such a warm personality and highly motivated guide. Kenji was an excellent tour guide! His English was very good. He was very thoughtful and dynamic, able to change our plans in the typhoon as required without hesitation. Nothing was too much trouble. Highlight was walking through yanesen, Kenji taking us into stalls and local shops to get a glimpse of the older Tokyo!
