What to Expect
This town is next to Takayama City and far from 20 minutes by train and car. Except winter season, Setogawa river has thousand of carp fishes and you can feed them. It makes the scenery really calm. Here is a popular area of carpenter skills. It has traditional houses there. Also it has popular sake breweries.

Furukawa is locate on the way to Toyama, Kanazawa by train about 20 minutes from Takayama. If you stay Takayama 2 or 3 days, it's an good day trip!

“ A local guide makes a difference ”
We really appreciated Mao’s tour yesterday. She grew up here and knows Takayama inside out. Before we met up with her, we walked around for a hour with a map, but could not connect with the city.
