On this tour, we will be visiting Nagoya Castle, Atsuta Shrine, Osu Temple and Osu shopping streets.
Great chance to know about Japanese culture and history by visiting castle, Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple.

This tour will take you to 3 historic places, Castle, Shrine and Temple.
Nagoya Castle, which holds golden statue of fish on top of the roof. (2 to 3 hours visit)
Each castle has it’s role and character. This one is unique one, decorated with Golden fish shaped statue on the castle tower.
Why gold? why so special? I will be introducing you the history and story of this castle while we walk around.
(Please note that the main tower has gone into the restoration and unable to see inside)
Atsuta Shrine, the Shrine deeply conected with the imperial family. (1 to 2 hours visit)
The shrine is the place where we enshrine the Shinto dietys, but this one is a bit special.
On our visit, we will focus on how the japanese people belive in shintoism.
Osu Temple, the Buddhist temple which is close to citizens daily life. (30 minuit visit )
One of the interesting things in Japan, is that people would believe in different religion at same time.
On this tour you will see both Shintoism and Buddhist elements which influenced the life of the Japanese.
After visiting the Temple, we can either explor the shopping streets or finish the tour.
Nagoya also has delicious local dishes such as;
Grilled eel which has different texture compared to Tokyo style,
Flat Udon noodles with rich broth,
Pork cutlet flavored with thick red Miso(soybean paste) sauce,
and many more.
We can stop by for any these and of course any other Japanese cuisine that you with to enjoy.

My basic guiding area will be around Nagoya, and Kyoto, but I am happy to take your requests if you are interested in something special.
I will be happy to guide you around many places, but since I currently live in Nagoya, I might have to ask for an extra charge for transportation or hotel fees for places such as Tokyo, Hakone, Mt.Fuji, Takayama, Osaka, etc

Main tower of Nagoya castle is now under restoration.

We were in town for a conference and our sightseeing time was somewhat limited. I am so glad we were able to find Fuhito, as he made the full day packed with some of the best arts, culture, dining, history, and just a great day.
