Toru is a wonderful guide. He was our guide in and around Akita. He is very professional. Every step of our tour ran very smoothly. The timing was good with enough time to see the sights and still get to the next destination. And if you are wondering his English is very good. All in all Toro is a very professional and personable guide. Highly recommend.

We primarily wanted to visit Akita for the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There is almost zero public transportation to the shrine and English speakers are very rare in this part of Japan. This is where Toru provided top value! He was able to drive us to the shrine, as well as show other activities in Akita including a museum, festival, and views of the park. He even took us to a local coffee house. He also helped us book train tickets on the return trip to Tokyo! In all, we hope to visit Akita again and will definitely be using Toru’s services when we return!

Our guide, Toru, was very kind, knowledgeable, & provided us with our favorite day during our week in Japan. He customized our itinerary and helped get us transportation to/from Akita & Kakunodate. We were able to leisurely enjoy the samurai houses, museum of cherry bark crafts, and then got a stunning view of Lake Tazawa. The place he recommended for lunch was also very delicious. He even gave us souvenir gifts at the end. I highly recommend this tour if you're in the area & highly recommend Toru!!
