It was a pleasant time to meet up with Hiroyuki-san the second time for a tour in Kyoto! This time I brought my 2 bosses along and they were very impressed with his knowledge and explaination. He also considered our request for lunch and found a good soba/udon shop. Thank you for also sending us to Osaka from Uji ! I hope to see you again soon!
We ended up making a rather last minute decision on the destination for our day trip out of Tokyo and to take the Shinkansen to Kanazawa instead of Kyoto. We were scrambling to work out an itinerary for the city and where to go and what to see. We thought the best way would be to get a tour guide to bring our family of 7 around. We managed to get Yoji and what a blessing it was. He was quick to respond and able to make adjustments along the way to accommodate our youngest (6y). He devised a well balanced, interesting and most importantly well paced series of attractions. He had very good knowledge of the attractions and we were able to connect immediately with him. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is going to Kanazawa.
Shinya was very polite and punctual. He met us at our hotel in Asakusa and navigated us on the subway to Akihabara to see manga stores. He found the best maid cafe for us to visit and took us to a hedgehog cafe. This tour was just akihabara, but I would guess that Shinya would also be a wonderful guide for other parts or the city too.
Dear Robyn, Thank you so much for your feedback. I am glad to know that your family had a good time at Akihabara. I hope you enjoyed staying in Japan! Stay safe and take care. Shinya
Our family was so fortunate to have Nori take us around Kyoto for two days in June. In addition to having the loveliest personality, he possesses a unique combination of eastern and western expertise. He was born and raised in Kyoto and comes from a family steeped in Japanese tradition. He also has lived, worked and studied extensively in the United Stated and India so that his English (and understanding of American culture) is exceptional. His knowledge of Kyoto's history, sites, geography, religion, culture is extensive. And he knows the best places to eat and shop for authentic goods. He is a joy to be around, wonderful with children (our son is 13), and able to be flexible and adapt to his clients' needs.. He is also very punctual; organized; and an extremely responsive communicator. We have been lucky to travel all over the world and have access to guides. Nori is a true gem among them all! Highest recommendation!!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. I also had a great time exploring Kyoto with you. I hope Steven’s condition has been getting better. Hopefully next time if you can come to Japan for skiing, I can join you guys!! Have a safe and wonderful rest of the trip!!
