About Tour Guide Yukiko F.

I'm Yukiko Fujii. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job. I've done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. Since I am one of a few guides who tried virtual tour in Tokyo during pandemic, it was a challenging, but it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills.

I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children as well.

I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide.

I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter.  I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. There are some common thinking between Tour guide and Nurse, both jobs are required to put myself into their shoes. I'll make plans considering their physical conditions and will arrange any supports after discussing about the tour.  I've already experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed.

I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in my tour! Arigatou!

Yukiko was fantastic!

We had 4 fantastic days with Yukiko. One of our adult children has a disability and doesn't tolerate heat or a lot of walking very well, but Yukiko planned everything very well and had arranged for a car to drop us off/pick us back up at extremely convenient locations. She added some sites to our tour as we went along based on our interests (i.e. architectural sites outside of Tokyo center on our way back from Ghibli Museum) which was a treat. Having someone with a nursing background was a huge reassurance to me in case I needed to navigate the health care system. Final bonus was her amazing options for lunches - she gave us some options to choose from ahead of our trip, and we chose the ones that sounded the best to us. She had reservations ready, and all of the lunches were amazing and a highlight as well. Thank you, Yukiko!

Unforgettable Tokyo Experience

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Yukiko as our tour guide in Tokyo! Myself and my two parents spent two fantastic days exploring the city's historical sites and vibrant neighborhoods, thanks to Yukiko's expert guidance. She took us to special nooks and crannies that we would have never discovered on our own, making our trip truly unforgettable. Yukiko's deep knowledge, warm personality, and attention to detail ensured we had an enriching and enjoyable time. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend!

Exploring Tokyo's Gems

Our first stop was the serene Fukagawa Buddhist Temple, nestled amidst the tranquil surroundings of Tokyo's old town. Stepping onto the temple grounds felt like entering a sanctuary of peace, far removed from the bustling city streets. Our guide illuminated the intricacies of Buddhist rituals and symbolism, inviting us to partake in a traditional fire ceremony that left us with a sense of serenity and mindfulness. Next, we ventured to the mystical Nazu Shrine, hidden away in a secluded corner of Tokyo. As we meandered through the forested paths leading to the shrine, a sense of reverence washed over us. Our guide shared captivating stories of Shinto mythology, unveiling the deep connection between nature and spirituality in Japanese culture. With each step, we felt a profound sense of harmony with the natural world. The tour then brought us to the iconic Senso-ji Temple, a beacon of spirituality amidst the bustling streets of Asakusa. The temple's vibrant red gate, or "Kaminarimon," welcomed us with open arms, leading us into a realm of ancient rituals and timeless traditions. Amidst the throngs of visitors, our guide illuminated the temple's storied history and the significance of its sacred artifacts, allowing us to glimpse into Japan's rich cultural tapestry. Our final destination was the majestic Meiji Jingu Shrine, nestled amidst the lush greenery of Yoyogi Park. Stepping through the towering torii gates, we were enveloped in a sense of reverence, as if entering a sacred realm. Our guide shared poignant tales of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, whose spirits are enshrined here, offering prayers for peace and prosperity in their honor. Yukiko's tour provided a perfect balance of historical insights, cultural immersion, and modern exploration, making it a must-do for anyone seeking to uncover the hidden gems of Tokyo. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this tour offers a captivating glimpse into the soul of Japan's dynamic capital.
