About Tour Guide Haru G.
Thank you for your interest in choosing me as your guide! I will be your friend in Kanazawa, a city with rich culture and history, modern and old co-exist.
I'm originally from Ishikawa Prefecture where Kanazawa is the capital. In the past, I lived in New York for many years.
After coming back to Japan, I have worked in the travel industry for a decade and learned a lot about inbound travelers. I also obtained my guide license in 2017 while I was working for successful inbound travel agencies. Living abroad and promoting Japan as a destination made my love for the country stronger and I'm passionate about sharing it with others. Now I am ready to explore Japan with you!

Best of Kanazawa - Full Day
Kanazawa is a charming city where old and new co-exist. Let's explore it together and see the richness of the culture throughout the day! In this tour, we will visit some of the highlights: Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle, Omicho Market, Samurai and Geisha Districts. We will move at your pace and take breaks as needed as this is a private tour. The itinerary may be adjusted depending on the weather or your health conditions on the day.
Evening Food Tour in Kanazawa
Taste local food of Kanazawa! On this tour, we will visit a few restaurants and bars learning about Japanese food culture and ingredients. You will sample a drink and a shared plate at each location and we will hop around. Your evening will be spent with a local guide by going to her favorites places and sharing stories together. The locations will be adjusted accordingly to availabilities. Two spots are included as a default but contact me for more options.

“ Highly recommended food tour ”
This tour is an excellent way to experience aspects of Kanazawa dining and drinks that would be very difficult to experience otherwise. The tour started at one of the best high end cocktails bars I have ever been to, continued at a more traditional izakaya, then ended at a tiny five seater bar for one of the most unique nights I have had anywhere. Haru is super knowledgeable and personable, and was also very responsive leading up to the tour. If you want to know what it's like to eat and drink like a local in Kanazawa, then this tour is for you.
