Kyoto was the ancient capital of Japan from 794 over one thousand years.
I would like to introduce you Arashiyama, Ninnaji Temple , Hirano Shrine and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
Arashiyama Peak is one of the the best spots in Kyoto for viewing both cherry blossoms and changing colors of autumn leaves. A great number of Temples and shrines are scattered widely around this area. I give you the guide of Tenryuji Temple, Nonomiya Shrine and bamboo forest.
Spanning 230 meter across Katsura River, photos of the Togetsukyo Bridge often appear in tourist pamphlets. When cossing the bridge, you see Tenryuji Temple.
Tenryuji Temple is the headquarters of the Zen Buddhist Rinzai Tenryuji school. The temple was founded in 1339 by Ashikaga Takauji to pray for peace. You can appreciate the "Dragon glaring in eight directions." No matter where you are, this dragon is staring at you. Furthermore you can enjoy walking around the first stroll-type garden in Japan. The whole of Arashiyama used to be within the grounds of this temple.
Nonomiya Shrine is konown for it's marriage, children and academics. Speaking of shrine, it usually conjures up the image of a red torii, but at Nonomiya shrine the tree is used without removing the bark, known as Kurokitorii (black torii), the oldest type of torii in Japan.
When you exit Tenryuji Temple, bamboo forest called "chikurin" are spread out on each sides of paths.
Next I take you to Ninnaji Temple, Hirano Shrine and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
Pass under the Niomon-gate of Ninnaji Temple, and the approach leading to the Chuomon-gate is so broad that it seems more like an open plaza than approach. The feeling of openness is one of the signature features of Ninnaji. On the left of the ground is Omuro cherry tree, known for its late-blooming cherry blossoms. To the right side stands the 36 meter-tall five-storied pagoda.
Hirano shrine has been famous for its cherry blossoms, too. There are about 400 cherry tees of 50 varieties inside the precincts. You can enjoy cherry blossom festival in April.
Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is constructed to comfort the soul of Sugawara-no-Michizane, who was falsely accused of crime. He is now famous for a god of learning. There are untold number of the plum trees that Michizane loved so much on the grounds. You can feel the arrival of spring at the plum blosson festival on February 25th.
I can assure you that you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing or the changing colors of autumn leaves in Arashiyama Peak. Why don't you visit Arashiyama tour ?

An absolutely fantastic tour of Hiroshima with Hideo! I can’t say enough about how much I and my group enjoyed our tour with Hideo. His attention to detail and knowledge of the sites were evident in the planning stages. Hideo reached out numerous times before our arrival in Japan to clarify what we wanted to see before we locked in the final itinerary. On the day we arrived in Hiroshima he met us at the port with sign in hand. We boarded our transport to visit the Atomic Dome, the Museum and then on to Miyajima. Hideo took us on a walking tour around the dome, stopping at each of the monuments to explain their significance. Everything he shared was delivered with the reverence required for site of service ch historical significance. Many in the group were overwhelmed with emotion from being at ground zero of the blast. From the Dome we walked to the Museum, which is a “must see attraction” for anyone looking to understand the impact of the use of Atomic Weaponry and the hopes that it is never used again. After a “heavy” beginning of the tour we were off the Miyajima Island. What a beautiful way to end the day and our tour. I want to thank Hideo as he was open the answer any question and delivered a professional tour in temperatures that exceeded 43C or 109F. He carried on without issue when people ½ his age were struggling. The comments from the group were of immense regard and thanks for Hideo, everyone loved it. If you are visiting Japan, Hiroshima is a “must stop” and Hideo would be the guide to show it to you. Thanks so much! Mike Expedia Cruises Oakville South (Ontario/Canada).
I'm very happy to receive your message. I showed you why Atomic Bomb Dome remained standing. In front of the Memorial Tower of mobilized students we saw the statued of Goddess that combines 3 religions. Sadako is lifting up the paper crane toward the sky in the Children's Peace Monument. We could see a lot of white tents because they were getting prepared to hold the Peace Memorial Ceremony on Aug 6 when the Atomic Bomb was dropped. In Miyajima we could see the Great Vermillion Shrine Gate from the ferry. In the evening it was almost full tide, so the shrine gate looked like as if it were floating on the sea. Despite the evening it was very hot and humid, but I'm relieved that all the guests were NOT suffering from the heat stroke (except me?). Thank you for joining my Hiroshima tour. I hope you enjoy Japan travel and I wish you and all the guets good health and happiness.
Hideo is an interesting and informative gentleman. The tour he took us on was well thought out and very full of top places around Kyoto that would have taken us much longer to get around without his expert knowledge. A thoroughly informative and interesting tour to top sites and the benefit of local knowledge made it seem very easy. Recommended.
Thank you for joining my Kyoto tour. I'm sure you could see how the Ninomaru Goten Palace was beautifully decorated in Nijojo Castle. Many outsider feual lords visited to meet shogun at this Palace. We visited Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Tenryuji Temple where we could see a typical Japanese garden and beautiful lotus flowers in full bloom. I wish you good health and happiness.
Hideo was a great guide!! We loved his company and everything he explained was very interesting. My family and I are really glad that we had Hideo with us during our stay in Hiroshima. We recommend his guidance!!
Thank you for the excellent review. In a small rain we visited Peace Memorial Park including Atomic Bomb Dome and the museum. We had Okonomiyaki or a popular local food for lunch. In Miyajimma we took beautiful photos at Itsukushima Shrine. I wish you and your family all the best in the future.
Hideo is a lovely, knowledgeable guide. We spent a full day exploring Kyoto and the surrounding areas. He shared the civil and religious history of each site, answering all our questions along the way. Spend a day with Hideo, you’ll leave Kyoto with a deeper understanding and appreciation!
I'm very happy to receive your excellent review. We visited Adashino Nembutsuji Temple, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. We could see beautiful lotus flowers at Tenryuji Temple. I remembered your daughter prayed for her dream in front of Benzaiten at Kinkakuji Temple. In Fushimi Inari Taisha we enjoyed walking through 1,000 torii Gates. Thank you for joining my Kyoto tour. I wish you and your family good health and happiness.
