So what's the big deal over the David? Walk through amazing sites and beautiful piazzas as I tell the fascinating tales of Michelangelo’s life and prolific career. Then see the David at the Accademia along with unfinished works still bearing the marks of Michelangelo's chisel. Hear the story of how an abandoned block of marble was transformed into a wonder of artistic genius and how the statue transformed its creator into one of the greatest artists of all time.
In Piazza della Signoria or at your hotel
We begin strolling through the streets of Florence, tracing Michelangelo's early life and times. See the spectacular Piazza della Signoria with its beautiful Renaissance sculpture, the Palazzo Vecchio, and fountain. Then follow me as we make our way the Cathedral Square and admire the Duomo and its monumental dome. See the Gates of Paradise and dazzling facades.
Step inside the Accademia Gallery with skip-the-line reservations and marvel at the colossal David. See other works by Michelangelo and learn about the art of sculpture.
