Introduced in 1940, Fanta is the second oldest brand of The Coca-Cola Company. Having difficulties importing Coca-Cola syrup into Nazi Germany during World War II, Max Keith, the head of Coca-Cola Deutschland (Coca-Cola GmbH), decided to create a new product for the German market using only ingredients available in Germany at the time. After a brief brainstorming session, which started with Keith's exhorting his team to "use their imagination" ("Fantasie" in German), to which one of his salesmen, Joe Knipp, immediately retorted "Fanta!" Fanta Orange is the leading flavor but almost every fruit grown is available as a Fanta flavor somewhere and as of December 2014 Fanta fruit-flavoured soft drink in Japan has  an outstanding 74 flavours to choose from, some without any idea of what they might actually taste like. Only one flavour has been retired - Raspberry flavour back in 2006 was introduced on the market called "Fanta FuruFuru Shaker" where a person have to shake the can, before drinking it. After a short run the product was discontinued, brought back again in 2011, and as of now is once again out of production. Some of the most mysterious flavours include "The Mystery Fruit," "Genius Energy," and "Hip Hop."  It is definitely worth looking out for the different Fanta in Japan and giving a flavour that has never been heard of a try.
